The online puja was sequenced in the following manner:

Devi Abhishekam - An expression of gratitude through 11 offerings, it is highly beneficial for the overall wellbeing of you and your family.

Mangala Arpanam – Offer turmeric root to Devi to seek her blessing powers for fulfilment and happiness in life.

Netram Arpanam - Devotees offered a copper representation of Devi’s third eye as an appeal to Devi’s kindness to fulfil one’s desires and wishes. The Third Eye implies going beyond the limitations of physical existence.

It is widely believed that by performing Sadhguru’s Linga Bhairavi Devi puja, she will bestow her auspiciousness on all beings because she represents Maha Kalyani and Sarva Mangali.

Sadhguru’s Linga Bhairavi is the fearless Devine Feminine, her embodiment is in the form of linga consecrated by Sadhguru through Prana Pratishtha ( a ritual to transform stone into a deity). It is not done through mantras but involves a process with a huge amount of energy.

It has been moulded as a powerful energy form with a solidified mercury core. A lot of rituals and prayers are conducted for the benefit of the devotees. Some of the rituals being performed are to remove any specific problem from devotees’ life.

Sadhguru has also designed Ling Bhairavi Yantra which you can keep in your office and home. The devotees have claimed that they feel an immediate connection with the Devi Yantra and it brings a positive transformation in their life. Linga Bhairavi has only three and a Half chakras namely Muladhara, Swadhisthana, Manipuraka and half of the Anahata chakra. Devi has only one of the two intersecting triangles of Anahata because she is half of Dhyanalinga. Thus it stabilizes one’s mind, body, and energy system. Goddess helps to overcome any kind of obstacle in life.

Significance of Devi Bhairavi as per ancient Hindu Beliefs, Devi Suktam, Mahavidya and Vedas

Devi Bhairavi also known as Tripura Bhairavi, is the one who is associated with the three Lokas or world. She has the power of Agni (Fire), Vidyut (lightening), and Surya (Sun), thus embracing Gods like Agni, Indra, and Surya in the Kundali.

    • As a Tripura Bhairavi, she dwells in the Muladhara or Root chakra. In the form of kama rupa, she is known as the creator of Muladhara chakra, which consists of three dots aligned in an inverted triangle shape, it is believed that from this chakra trinity is born, which ultimately leads to the creation of this universe.
    • The three points of a triangle have three letters or Bijaksara's and these letters are connected to each other through the sides of the triangle and each of these sides represents Iccha Shakti or the Divine will, Jnana Shakti or the Divine knowledge and Kriya Shakti or Divine action.
    • Tripura Bhairavi is situated as dormant energy while Tripura Sundari actualises this dormant energy and moves this energy upwards towards higher chakras till Sahasrara Chakra.
    • The Tripura Bhairavi mantra ‘Om Aim Hreem Shree Sundriya Namah’ overcomes all the obstacles and sufferings in life.
    • Due to these reasons, Goddess Bhairavi has been depicted as the uncontrolled spark and ebullient power of Kundalini. The most fundamental source of energy that purifies all soul’s actions. Divine energy resides at the base of the Spine. Regarded as a dormant divine power that rises only when awakened or provoked. This is one of the prime reasons we perform Deep Meditation while carrying Devi Bhairavi puja.
  1. Devi Bhairavi can be traced among Dasha Mahavidyas or Ten great wisdom Goddesses. She is the fifth form of Devi mentioned in Mahavidyas. Also known as Kala Bhairavi as she is an aggressive version of Lord Shiva. She not only dispels negativity and evils but also enhances spirituality in an individual. She may look frightening but she is a Creator, Controller, and Destructor of evil.
  2. She is also sometimes worshipped in the form of Goddess Shubhamkari, the one who upholds virtuous deeds. In this avatar, she has a more compassionate face, wherein she is portrayed as holding a book, and a rosary while making the mudras of Abhaya and Varada with her hands.
  3. Dhyana shloka in the Devi Mahatmya magnificently describes her various forms

    • As a Ma Bhairavi, she is described as Goddess with blood smeared on her body. She has four arms, and with two of her hands, she holds the sword of knowledge and the demon’s head which represents the destruction of the ego. Her other two hands sometimes display the abhayamudra, telling us to have no fear, and the varadamudra, the gesture of giving boons. She wears a garland of severed heads around her neck. She has three eyes and her head is adorned with a crescent moon.
    • In another form, she is carrying a bowl full of blood and drinking blood from it, in Chamundeshwari and Kali form.
    • Also can be seen sitting on Shiva which is more of a Tantrik form of Devi.
    • In Durga Saptashati she is also called Kalaratri, particularly during the nine nights of Navratra, who slays Chanda, Munda and Raktabija.
    • She is also called Shubhankari, which means although she prefers punishment and bloodshed to those who are evil-minded, she is a benign Mother to her children.

Thus, Devi Bhairavi shares distinct characteristics with Ma Kali. She is dreaded by evil forces like Demons and negative energies. Her origination is to maintain the cycle of destruction and creation in this world. But in spite of being such a fearsome Devi, she has the heart of a mother who has unconditional love for all her children and can go to any limits to protect her beloved.

Sadhguru has also described her as, “ A very powerful, fierce feminine form”.  Although he worships Devi Bharavi in Linga form which is very rare, her immense powers and purpose remain the same. According to him, Linga Bhairavi Puja responds well to those who want health, Prosperity, or any kind of materialist things.
