Tuesday fasting is done to appease Lord Hanuman. Hanuman Chalisa is read along with Tuesday Katha. This fast is observed mainly to gain strength, win over enemies, win litigations, the betterment of health, fear of evil, reduce the ill effects caused by the planet Mars or Mangal.

Fasting on Tuesday to get blessed by Lord Hanuman

Like other days, Tuesday is reserved for Lord Hanuman, also known as Bajranjbali, Anjani Putra and Maruti. He is considered as the one who destroys the evil.

To impress Mahabali Hanuman, people keep fast on Tuesdays. The fast is observed from sunrise to sunset. After waking up in the morning, take bathe and start from worshipping Lord Ganesh followed by Lord Hanuman. On this day, people are supposed to wear red and red flowers are offered during the prayers.

Hanuman Chalisa and Mangalwar vrat katha are also recited on this day. Sankatmochan Hanuman ashtak is also read along with it. One meal is taken in the evening after worshipping Lord Hanuman. But the meal should contain wheat and jaggery and salt is to be avoided at every cost.

This fast is observed mainly to gain strength, win over enemies, win in litigations, betterment of health, fear of evil, reduce the bad effects caused by the planet Mars or Mangal in Hindi. It is from this planet only that it is termed as Mangalwar vrat or fast. Secondly, this fast is observed by couples who want a boy child too.

This fast is observed for 21 weeks for best results. To get relieved from troubles and to attain strength, stamina and power, people also recite Lord Hanuman's beej mantra-

"Om Aeem Bhreem Hanumate, Shri Ram Dootaye Namah"

Other mantras that can be recited are-

"Om Shree Hanumate Namah"
"Hang Pawan Nandanaya Swaha"

The ideal count for reciting these mantras is 108 times

To cure any illness or to get rid of evil spirits or any other type of disturbance, recite this Hanuman mantra 21000 times-

"Om Namo Bhagwate Aanjaneyaya Mahabalaya Swaha"

It is believed that a person who regularly recites these mantras is never troubled by ghosts, spirits and devils and is protected from enemies. It also helps children to get rid of scary and fearful thoughts. It also helps to reduce the malefic effects of sade sati and overcoming various problems.

It is believed that if you pray to Lord Hanuman with a pure heart, he always come to rescue.
