Rituals to do while Ganesh Sthapana

It is Ganesh Stapana that means initiation of the 10 day long Puja festival. Here we are trying to bring before you the rituals during the procedure step by step.

All you have to do is to clean the home and he place the idol of the Lord will be placed. You may decorate the Puja place with colorful rangolis, flowers, festoons, garlands and many things after your own caliber.

Now for the Ganesh Sthapana or placing of an idol or picture of the lord Ganesha on a platform or altar you have to find an auspicious moment for the placement.

The first thing is to light a diya or lamp before the idol.

Place some flowers, fruits and swees in the form of Naivedya or offerings to the Lord.

The priest does the Puja rituals according to scriptures and goes on for aarti with the ringing of bell and sounds of conch.  

It must be kept in mind that for 10 days you have to do the regular Puja and Archana of the Lord with due devotion and attention.
