About Fasting on Sunday to appease God Sun

Sunday is dedicated to Lord Surya or Sun God. Sun is one of the visible God to who we can pray. He is essential for life and hence considered as life-giver. An ill-placed Sun can lead to difficulties relating to heart, blood circulation, blood pressure, problem from govt, issues in child birth, downfall from status etc. People who have a weak sun according to their Kundli should observe this fast. Fasting on Sunday helps in fulfilling all your desires.

This fast is observed from sunrise to sunset. After waking up, take bathe and offer water to Sun. You can also add kumkum, red flower, sugar and some rice to it. Red color is preferred by people observing this fast. People wear red clothes and offer red flowers while worshipping. Sunday vrat Katha should be recited or read during worship.

The meal is taken once before sunset. Oil, salt and fried food is avoided. If you are unable to eat before sunset, then the meal should be taken on the next day after offering water to Sun.

If you observe fast on Sundays, you are believed to get rid of eye problems, you get honour and respect in the society as well as you can get victory over all your enemies etc.

While offering water to Lord Sun, you can recite the following mantra-

"Nama Suryaya Santaya Sarvaroga Nivarine,
Ayu Rarogya Maisvairyam Dehi Devah Jagatpate"

It means, O Lord Surya, ruler of the universe, you are the remover of all diseases, the repository of peace, I bow to you. May you bless your devotees with longevity, health and wealth.

The Surya Beej Mantra has the power to bring positivity, healing power to cure diseases and ability to create a life of abundance. Divine grace is obtained by chanting this mantra-
