About Chandra Aarti

The planet Moon in Vedic astrology is called CHANDRA. In Sanskrit CHANDRA is defined as bright and magnificent. It is also known as SOMA, got its name from the alcoholic holy drink used in Vedic sacrifice. The western countries pay more attention to the sun sign whereas you may observe that a majority of Hindus know their Moon sign and follow it.

The bright Moon is looked upon as a benefic of the highest order, and the dark Moon is considered to be malefic. The Moon is the controller of many things. The moon is the master that blesses the humans with bodily beauty, a sharp and intellectual mind, etc. The westerners find it hard to believe that the Moon signifies the functioning of the mind, and not Mercury.

Benefits of Performing Chandra Aarti

CHANDRA (MOON) is considered to be a loving God - a god who is easy to sway. He is pleasing to all, everyone is fascinated by him, such as his beauty. The Sadhus treat the moon as god mother and take blessings by conducting Dhyaan yogi Puja.

The moon lord bestows happiness, calmness and contentment to the devotees. He is cool and calm in nature, but loves changes and so he makes his devotees the same. The day of Chandra Dev is Monday and thus a Puja conducted on Mondays is extremely beneficial. A Chandra aarti along with a fast on Mondays magnifies the result.
