History

Ramanuja was a revered and respected Acharya and one of the greatest philosophers of Sri Vaishnavism (the Vedas). He was born into a Brahmin family and lived a simple life. He taught about many things and one them was equality. He said that all are born equal in the eyes of God and we should not categorize people based on their aspects. He died at the age of 120 after writing many scriptures and texts.

Ramanuja taught the Hindus that they do not need to pray to just one deity, but rather the deity that they want and is of their choice. This is why in modern India, many pray to a number of gods.
